About Word Radicals
A connected reference for Latin and Greek
Word Radicals connects word meanings, classical roots, and grammar practice in one learning app.
What is included
The app contains 53,388 dictionary entries, 226 curated roots, and 85 model grammar charts. The public reference contains selected words connected to those roots, plus the root library and grammar charts.
Sources and attribution
The dictionary records Wiktionary as its source under Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0. Entry pages link to the source word and its revision history. Definitions and recorded forms are selected and reformatted from the local dictionary. Root links are curated by Word Radicals. Grammar charts come from the app’s shared learning curriculum.
How to use the reference
A shared spelling or root is not enough to prove a complete word history. Definitions can depend on period and context. The reference preserves recorded relationships and selected forms; use the linked sources when a precise historical or textual interpretation matters.
Corrections and contact
Use the support page to contact the developer about a possible error. Include the page URL, the entry or form, and a source for the proposed correction.
Privacy and progress
Browsing the public reference does not require an account. Saved words and study progress use browser storage in the app. Progress is separate on the two hostnames. See the privacy policy for details.
